hells yea not for your every day grunt! only issued to the biggest and best NCO'S!......also i imagined there would be a huge hydraulic recoil system in the stock area and the whole barrel itself would reciprocate!
thanks! I agree for the most part( however ww2 germany produced the full-auto FG42 in 7.92x57mm witch is a full power rifle round as well as the semi-auto G43) but the "assault" in the title was to note its intended role!. I am open to any suggestions of a new title tho!
How about "Anti-Material Shock Rifle"? This name would associate the weapon with high mobility, close-in combat without giving the impression that it's a fully automatic, close to mid-range weapon. That's assuming the weapon is designed for closer ranged engagements than a true .50 cal sniper rifle.
I would count the .50 BMG on the upper end of what counts as a "rifle" cartridge, only beaten by the 14.5x114mmR, so I suppose this would count as a "battle Rifle" more than an "assault rifle." However, by modern military doctrine, this is more likely to be named an "anti-materiel" rifle, instead of a battle or assault rifle
